Home Visit Requests

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible.

Home visits are made only to those who are unable to come to surgery, because of infirmity (bed bound or housebound, significant frailty) or are too unwell to travel.  All requests for home visits should be made before 10.00am where possible.

Please give the receptionist all the details and this will be assessed by the doctor on-call. If there is any degree of urgency, please make this clear.

It is not possible to guarantee a visit by a particular doctor.

Some conditions are best treated in hospital, and occasionally you may be advised to dial 999 for an emergency ambulance.

PLEASE NOTE:  a lack of transport is not a reasonable indication for a home visit.
